Thanks content monitor. Does the job come with a free orange vest and authentic badge?

Please say this is a typo. You don't YS on XX days. Ever. You don't get PB days, you don't get extra pay, you don't even get credit towards your reserve guarantee. You are literally flying for free and likely screwing your buds out of premium flying opportunities.

I have the 5 day as preference 1 and the 4 day as preference 2. Do they run in preference order even though they are different categories of YS's? Switching from res to line holder is hard...
I'm finding it a little difficult to visualize your question but I'll give it a shot. If I understand your question correctly, you have a final x day prior to a block of at least 4 res days?

I think (important caveat) that YS are all processed the day prior. Therefore they will see your YS to fly on an x day and probably award the five day before they even see/consider your YS to fly on the res day. I've never done what you are attempting, but I have YS on an x day (always 1 day trips) and gotten very quick results. I suspect YS on x day sets off an alarm or a flashing light in scheduling.

I'm assuming you have a valid reason to fly on an x day? Like to fill up?

If he's reached his RES GUAR then he is essentially picking up open time over and above. Maybe he wants some extra coin.

Perhaps, but we're talking 717b. I've seen GS 7 or 8 go out in NYC and GS 6 in ATL. In addition he's talking about carry-out trips which are always GS fodder. There's no need to YS on an XX day.

Re reading the question, if you are on 717 why not try a 1 day gs and attempt to roll thunder straight through the whole res block? The way that category is going this month, seems pretty doable

I guess I should have clarified my sched. I have 4 days of res the end of Apr. then in May I have a reg line and the first day of May is a day off. There is a five day trip that starts on my first day of res (28 Apr) it ends on 2 May. Icrew wouldn't let me put in a YS for first to fly on res days for the trip because of the spill over to a day off. I am going to fly the 28Apr-1May anyway so I thought I would pick up this trip because it has some good overnights. Plus with mil leave in May I only have about 66 hours. I thought adding some spill over hours would be good. I have the YS in for that trip and another four day trip that covers just the four days of res the end of Apr. I was wondering if the two different types of YS's are run at the same time in preference order. I have the 5 day as preference 1 and the 4 day as preference 2. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for the advice for a newbie.

What can get confusing is that you are on a regular line for May, but the first day of the May bid period is May 2.

When you say "the first day of May is a day off" do you mean May 1--the LAST DAY of the April bid period--which means it is a reserve X-day....or do you mean "the first day of the May bid period" which is in fact May 2, AND you are holding a regular line, AND that means May 2 is merely a regular line day off?

I'm pretty sure you mean that you are on call Apr 28-May 1 (April bid period) and May 2 is a regular line day off, therefore might as well put in preferences to fly a nicer trip if you are going to fly anyway, add some hours to the May bid period, etc?

This is the only option you have to go to work when you are on reserve and your mother-in-law shows up to stay a few days.

So, I see the Travelnet link doesn't work on the new and improved Deltanet.

Works on mine, found that a computer reboot made the "new" travelnet work much better though....
