Thanks. I have PB days from 21-30 June and Pr on 1 July for 10 minutes. CS gave me rest beginning at 0010. It is my assumption they did this to prevent me from being eligible for a trip that might somehow conflict with my 2 July sign-in. I've can't see why else they would assign rest like that, they're basically giving away a full day of LC and they are doing it 2 weeks in advance.

So they come out right before lunch in backdoor, officially after lunch on the same day.

If work is required over a weekend then they'll be done early. So if the 11th is Friday, then they'll start on Monday. If the 16th is Sunday, all bids out by Friday.

Tic but it sure seems to be the way it's done and given how much is done via pen and paper, like GSs, I wouldn't be surprised.
That's actually probably quite close to the truth!

Reserve question:

If I get released to rest after a 3 day at 1300, I am on rest until the next day at 0100, and that next day is my last day of reserve before a golden x day, can the company use me on that day? How can they give me a 12 hour call out and get me released by 1200 before my golden x day?

Thanks in advance.

You will be on long call for the rest of the day so still check your schedule after 1500 base time to see about an early report. You are auto released at noon the day prior to golden.

They call you at 0101 and say "we have a turn for you leaving at 3pm and returning at 7pm." You are home before your days off begin. That's how. If they don't call you between 0100 and 1200 you are automatically released without a call to CS.

I thought I read something about a month ago saying we were getting rid of two duty periods in one days. I read this as "red eye day sleep night flight" but they're still all over the place. So what did they mean? What did we get rid of?

I don't remember reading anything like that, where was it? I dislike those a lot and can't see that I missed them. I had a whole month of them in Jan.

My category (DTW) had some of those trips with two duty periods on the same day, in July. (red eye into ATL, then leave that night for SAN for example).

It was indicated in a c66 letter out of NYC a couple months ago that these mid-day rests were not going to happen anymore. Not sure if that has happened or not for NYC or the whole system, or what. But that's where I read about it.

Just about 100% of the LAX 73N 2 day red eye trips are built this way...9pm-midnight departure flying a transcon to the east coast (mainly TPA, MIA, MCO) day sleep then fly the 6-8pm departure back to LAX arriving about 24 hours TAFB. Productive trips (1030 CR in 24 hours) and easy for a west coast guy because of the minimal body clock hit. The mid rotation red eyes and the red eyes the NYC and ATL guys have are what sucks...landing and finishing a trip on a red eye, no thanks! I think it's very base specific. I don't mind LAX red eyes since most red eye rotations start with them and you get it out of the way early.
