He's not alone with that process! 😎

Default PCS question

PCS question...

I am right at 5:45 max P/U this month. The GS are not flowing like last month partly because it seems the company has correctly staffed the category and too many NHs are YS everything....I might be able to hold out for an end of the month GS but might get desperate and go with this idea...

I am eying a 2 day trip (both days in June bid period) that pays 10:30 (which would put me over the max P/U) so clearly I cannot do a straight WS to pick it up. But wait, I thought to myself....what if I were to WS a different 2 day trip that straddles the bid period and pays 5:45 in June and the rest in July (01 Jul - 02 Jul) and then put in a PS for the same PCS run for the trip I want? Could that be processed on the same transaction? Would icrew deny the PS since the WS spill over trip is not currently on my schedule? Worst case I guess I would have to wait until the subsequent PCS run to do the PS? I figured since PWs are processed first, it could pick up the trip then do a PS right after....

RSVs are showing black for all days involved and it would be a 2 day for a 2 day...

Can't do it on same PCS run because the trip you are trying to white slip isn't on your schedule. Swap with pot template won't allow you to drop a prospective trip. You could do it on the very next PCS run however.

Even better idea, wait for that end of the month GS; work smarter, not harder.

I assume you mean blue (blue is positive; black is even or negative)?

As Omar says, you can't do it on the same run for the simple reason that you can't put in the SWP request to drop something not already on your schedule.

A better option might be to use the same plan, but with a 1-day (ideally within the footprint of the 2-day you want)--of course, that depends on what's available in Open Time. Also, don't forget to check the Swap Board, the pickup limit doesn't apply there, either.

An even better question is, why on earth do you want to work so much??

You're trying way too hard to get more flying at straight pay. I feel sorry for you. 80 plus hours should be enough. We need the bow system back that forces people to average 70 hours per month.

Yes, work harder, not smarter....its all situational dependent. I've flown with Capt's this month that have worked their schedule through PS and PW and ended up at 130 CR. That's just crazy. I'm no where near that, nor do I want to be. Bottom line, everyone has different needs (more time off one month, and work harder the other). Not everyone lives a 30 day bid period at a time.

GS's are nice when you get them, but seniority is everything and they don't always trickle down, so it's always nice to have other options. Thanks for the replies and different opinions...

Nothing on the swap board? You probably already know this but you can pick up til FAR limits on swap board.

Why do you feel sorry for him? I'm not trying to chuck any spears, but isn't he just executing his contractual right? Why does anyone care how much he flies??Maybe he's trying to be as lucrative as possible this summer. Maybe he's trying to pay off a few bills and has some extra free time. Whatever the case may be, I'm sure he has his reasons...he was just looking for a qwik PCS answer not a lecture on how much you think he should fly or not.
