75 for now, starting Spring ’18…with options for 50 more, including the CS300.

So if I'm training in Jan (going from B to A) but converting in Feb does that mean I'll be flying for a few weeks as an A but getting paid as a B?

I'm in the same boat (Jan training, Mar convert). The way I read the contract it says I should be all the way through OE flying as a Capt on F/O pay.

I think you guys are correct (though I have no experience with it) re how the pay works.

That said, keep in mind, while you're on OE, you're sitting in the left seat, but you're not the A; you're still the B (the LCA is the A). If you don't believe me, check your flight time totals. Pretty sure you get paid at the new rate once you're done with training, even if that happens prior to your official conversion date.

I'd like to see the pay start as soon as you begin training, but, there is a consistency here and, ultimately, that's how the contract is written....

Most likely, you will train starting in Dec and not finish until Jan if your conversion date is not the same month as your training date. I believe your pay will begin at the new rate in your conversion month. Most likely that means that you will finish your last bit of sims and start OE on A pay but will do some of your sims under B pay (and probably fly half a month as a B on your old plane before sims start).

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is what my A sim partner told me when I was in sims as a B last time.

Number one, once you finish training on a new airplane, you DO NOT go back and fly your old airplane period. I'm pretty sure, at a minimum, you will be converted after OE if not before. For OE pay purposes, I think you might want to look at Section 11.B.5. Section 11.B is all about Training pay and credit.

Default Reserve GS question

I need help decrypting the PWA. I am on reserve for Oct and Nov. I have a 4 day GS that the first 2 days are X days (Oct bid) and the next 2 are RES days (Nov bid).

I got the pay and PB day stuff, but should I be given the 9 hours free of duty as well even for the spillover?

On Nov. 2nd when you get back, assuming it's a reserve day, you immediately go on long call. The soonest you can be called out is 12 hours anyway so it kinda takes the 9 hours out of the equation I think. It's not 12 hours on top of the 9 hours. At least I don't think it is.....

no, it means you won't finish training until after the 15th IIRC
