Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Just because you submit a LOR doesn't mean they'll get the call for an interview. I'm not saying this in a negative way, just making sure you know it's not a magic bullet that gets them one.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows this since he's on probation and has, most likely, been through the hiring process more recently than you.
Where is the Pacific Room in Terminal 5(LAX)? (i.e. upstairs/crewroom level?)
It sounds like you have run into the dreaded "days of availability" conundrum. Sounds like it was a 4 day trip and he was in the 4 day DOA bucket and you were in the 5 day DOA bucket. If so, doesn't matter if you yellow slip or not. They try to match the trip with days of availability first so you guys were not competing for the trip. If you'd of had the same days of availability then you would have gotten the trip. At least that's what it sounds like to me.

I think LORs are great, people wrote them for me to help me get hired and I really appreciate that they did. I'm just trying help everyone along.
I wrote a letter for a guy who worked for me while I was only a couple months in this company. He got an interview and is now on property. Coincidence? Possibly. Bottom line: if you've got the "tier one" application and ANY Delta pilot writes a letter of wreck (having flown with said person is a must...) their app will most likely get a look.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.

A while back there was a post about how to prevent being awarded a carryover trip or how to stay on the low end of the LCW. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks
