This∆∆∆∆. Get it done, probate is a nightmare.

I beleive it is completely free if it is a basic will. Pilots (and their spouses) with minor children probably should, at a minimum, have a will that creates a testamentary trust provision for the second-to-die. Not sure if that is fully covered under the plan.

Make sure you get the full estate planning package if you are going to do it at all - you should walk out of your attorney's office with a will, a durable power of attorney, a living will (the one Kramer was agonizing over with Elaine..."Pull the plug or not?") and a healthcare proxy.

As stated above, probate sucks...but intestate (no will) probate sucks "worser." 😁

In the meantime a ToD/PoD on most accounts is a great way to mitigate some of the negatives of not having a will. You should still have one of course.

Thanks!

I wouldn't doubt it we have different Deltanets, but for me that path didn't work. I just did a search for Hyatt Legal Services and it took me to Deltanet>Our Company>Human Resources>Benefits>Free Will Preparation Service

So is it bad that this paragraph could be written in ancient Hebrew and it would make as much sense to me? I'm looking for: pull the plug, give my organs to cancer kids, my wife gets all my shlt, if we both die then my kids get it all at age 25 and my mother will keep an eye on it until then. If she dies before that then the kids get it.

That is good, but beyond a simple will.

BTW I just called and we are authorized 3 documents: a will, a PoA, and a Living Will.

3 outta 4 ain't bad....

Make sure the PoA is a durable PoA. The attorney will explain why.

A healthcare proxy (designating the person who makes your medical decisions/pulls the plug for you when you are in that comfortably numb vegetative state) should be done for a nominal charge to complete "the package."

MOAB drop scheduled

I got an email from my buddy Steve. He snuck in some info near the end that the Mother Of All Bids (MOAB) would be dropped on May 8th and continue through the 18th. He also said that there would be up to 2000 positions up for bid and that the DTW744, NYC & CVG M88 categories would close. Another tidbit was that they are expecting the following AE to be small but to include the CS100.

150ish A350 CA and FO slots on the bid... that'll pretty much take all the sting out of the 744 closure, perhaps and then some. This is truly a MOAB... bid what you want, and want what you bid, because you just might get it (unless its 744 or 88)!

Yep - and they are also covering a lot of retirements on this bid. My prediction - mostly positive :) with possibly small isolated pockets of localized MD induced negative movement. :(

One more thing to note - since we will be carrying surplus Pilots and this bid will have a 365 day conversion period many positions may not be available again in substantial numbers or at all for the next year. The one obvious exception to this is obviously the C series.

Get your bids in now or be prepared to stay put for a while.
