Sounds fair. Just as long as personal drops count as well.

Interesting point. If you equate sleeping in bed with fulfilling military service obligations, I suppose I can't disagree. And along those lines, you'd probably have to extend USERRA protections to anyone taking leave without pay...but I digress.

I frankly don't agree with even having a GS trigger as long as we preserve rules about GS recipient sequencing (i.e., everyone gets a shot before someone gets a second). But I don't imagine we could ever get rid of the GS trigger without introducing a productivity floor/minimum schedule...and I certainly don't want that.

ATL Commuter Hotels??

Hey All,

Anyone recently stayed at the Virginia Ave hotels? Any good suggestions/crew rates? Thanks

I think that's why it's called Mil LEAVE. Cuz you're not here. Not here, no credit.

Unlike commuting , Mil Leave is ALWAYS a choice. You are NOT required to hold two jobs. Don't complain about not getting "credit" here while you're at your other job there.

I'm not complaining anywhere. I called the policy unfortunate, which I believe it to be.

I, personally, am not forced to hold two jobs. But by fulfilling our global military and political obligations with an increasingly part-time force, our nation is forcing somebody to do exactly that. We all make sacrifices to support the system in place. USERRA law prevents employers from opting out. Fellow employees of military members perhaps pay a larger price than civilians whose workload is not increased by the part-time status of their peers. You have the right not to be supportive. No problem, I don't take it personally. I accept more gratitude from strangers than was offered to military generations that preceded me, and I am always appreciative of the support.

Actually, quite a few of us are still locked in due to our pilot training commitment (10 years). When I was hired, I had 4+ years left until I could separate. So ya, I guess it is a choice....kind of like paying taxes is a choice.

You could have chosen to finish those 4+ years active duty, so it WAS a choice, right?

If my Guard base had full time jobs at the time, I have never been active duty. To circle back to your commuting joke...they could just move, right?

Yes.

I am just pointing out of what seems to me to be a millennial "entitlement" attitude that's more out in the open in Delta/Mil double dippers than in years gone by.

I was in the USAF for 9 yrs. (30 yrs ago)
