C'mon Phuz...you were so close but you just need to read the contract more fully/carefully. You are exactly right that 2.A.145 defines "International pay” means an hourly pay premium paid to a pilot for flight time flown in an international operation.
However, you have to go to 2.A.143 which defines “International operation” as "a flight segment to or from an airport, or between airports, located outside the contiguous 48 states of the United States. Exception: A flight segment between an airport located in the mainland United States and either Canada or Alaska will not be considered an international operation."
Therefore, a flight to/from CUN is an international operation entitling you to international override and international per diem.

Curious to hear what Phuz hears from Alpa, I would definitely ask the question.
I could have been a little more clear. They have to complete the Captain bids before they can start the FO bids, because of the Avoids and LCA preferences. Without a firm schedule for the As, there is nothing to run the FO preferences against.

Ummmm....that's kinda the point I was making. Mexico is not in the exception so Phuz should be getting int'l override and per diem for the Mexico legs.

What's up with the 4 guys getting terminated for being out of position on short call? Did they lie and try to cover it up? History of doing dumb things? My understanding is that it's pretty hard to get fired here if you tell the truth and straighten up.

Sitting short call from across the U.S. is baaaaddd mmmkayyyy. If you're on short call, be within a "reasonable amount of time distance," whatever that means for your locale. Being out of position after trying and failing to make the commute is one thing. Out right now showing up is just going to make it tougher on the rest of us who do the right thing. People complain about the amount of SCs they have per day...this stuff doesn't help that cause.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they were 747 guys.
