is anyone smart on reserve and the 30 hour rule?
how soon after the 30 hour rest can you be assigned a trip? i looked at 117 and it says you cant be assigned reserve or a duty during the 30 hour rest, which makes me think they cant put you on long call. Im on a trip overseas and cant call scheduling to get the straight poop. thanks |
At the end of 30 hours you go on long call. Or they can notify you will be on short call in 12 (or 10, I get confused) hours.
Unless you yellow slip something earlier |

I saw that they have an app, so I downloaded it, but Delta doesn't appear to be an option on the app. Has anyone been able to get the app to work?

Im on a trip overseas and cant call scheduling to get the straight poop. thanks Several of the responses here are incorrect. While it is true that you are under no obligation to check your schedule prior to the end of the 30-hr rest, if you commute it may be a good idea to do so. Treat the 30-hr rest as you would any other x-day prior to the start of reserve on-call days. If scheduling places something (SC or a trip) on your schedule prior to 9-hrs prior to the end of your 30-hr break, then you may be obligated to report as soon as 10-hrs following the end of your 30-hr break. However, if nothing is on your schedule at the 9-hr point, then you default to LC when your rest ends. The above assumes that you were not notified of an assignment to follow prior to the start of your 30-hr break. Also, if you are overseas, download Skype or another VOIP app to your smartphone or computer, or just use the WIFI calling feature if you have it. 800-calls to the US (scheduling and DALPA) are free. |
