Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Send this Delta dude an email and request a subscription to his B-737 study guide. It's not the same as the D.C. Guide fir the 75/76, but it's a great tie together of Boeing stuff with DL proceedures. Used to be free, but I think he may accept donations [email protected]
For outhouse trivia ( and some great tips to store in brain RAM) Google the 737 technical site. It's U.K. based, but plenty of input from U.S pilots too. The dual engine flameout tips are verified accurate by me in a 737-800 ( simulator that is). Great fun for extra sim time.

Any conspiracy theories about why the Sep ATL M88 A awards haven't posted yet? 9+ hours and counting since all other A awards posted. Maybe I missed a memo, but I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet. Did the schedule sodomizer software "spit on it" and the result was too gentle for managements' approval?
If we want that flying at the mainline, and we have to live under FAR 117, something's got to give. You call it "degradation". I call it "improved trip mix for pilots like me who live in base".
Please read page 13 of your bid package. The name and phone number is there.
So you're saying humans took away 1 and 2 day trips and built less commutable front end and back end trips for the sake of productivity and continue to do so? Not buying it. The RCC can make requests all day but if the staffing doesn't support it we are SOL.
The optimizer wonkulator will always build for efficiency, not human factors. The slow degradation of trips since 117 shows the real effect on QOL. Mid-rotation redeyes with a 10 hour day stay, 5 days on domestic narrow-bodies, international trips with domestic days on both ends etc. So many examples of the "staffing crunch" forcing efficiency.
Please name these "people" so I can thank them in person when I come across them.

One thing I have learned over the years is that pilots have many differing views of what constitutes a good trip. I see guys complaining about 30 hour layovers and then the next guy complaining that all the 30 hour layovers are gone. Just because you won't like it doesn't mean another pilot didn't want it.

For what it is worth, you may not like 5 day trips or international with domestic on each end, but there are quite a few pilots who do. 5 day trips have been requested by pilots for years and even by local council resolution. Although I typically don't like 5 day domestic trips, I wanted one this month and could not hold it. (top 30% in cat). Apparently those senior pilots who bid them didn't see them as degradation.

Delta did not have 5 day domestic trips. After the merger with NW they eliminated them completely. They were brought back as you mentioned with strong support from pilots who were angry they were eliminated. Personally I hate them but some seem to want and prefer them.
Ok next subject: The number of day trips in a base where 85% of pilots commute (NYC717.)
Thanks a lot for that. Lots of hotel points next month.
Doesn't the number of sick calls/green slips on 1-day trips tell them something?
I'd much prefer a five day than five 1-day trips.
