That's not what the January Crew Resources Monthly Update says. It states that only 65 Captain positions will be open to bid on. All 65 positions will be on the A350. This would be semi-good news as you might think the waterfall effect on the Captains side would create some additional capt slots, but the update also said that they do not intend to backfill any of the vacated positions. the remaining 680 openings will be on the F/O side (40 A350 and 200 ERF/Os. the rest are narrow body positions). If the statement that there will be no backfilling of vacated positions weren't bad enough, the update also states that this AE will likely take us through the Summer of '18.:(:(
Are we now planning to fly captain-less narrow-body aircraft??

I wouldn’t worry too much, they were commenting on the “Sep/Oct”/“Fall AE” as late as September and it never happened.

The update last month claimed we would return to “more frequent” AE’s.

However, if we’re becoming a one-bid-a-year airline a lot of guys are going to have to re-evaluate their preferences especially since freezes may effectively last a lot longer than advertised.

Back in the early 80's I usta take my big 4 wheely Chevy out on 285 pulling stragglers out the ditches, it was weird, all sound muffled by the snow, abandoned cars everywhere, only light from my nine gazillion lumen light bar. It was like the end of the world. The folks were glad to see you though. I made sure they saw my "Jet Delta's Big Flies." bumper stickers. I sorta miss those days.... Or not.

A little help from someone that has had this happen. I have read all of section 23 of the pwa for reroutes and i think i got it right but not sure. Also ALPA is closed today so can't ask them. If a reserve pilot is rerouted into your day off does the "pay no credit " for the extra day go above guarantee? or did you just work on your day off for free?

Also I don't see anything about getting your off day back like with green slips so I guess you lose that also?

Thanks guys. The pay no credit terminology confuses me sometimes, especially when dealing with reserve.

So if the company get 14,000 volunteers to test the iPad, any chance we can just get rid of the Surface now?
