I'm not sure that Delta's attendance at a job fair indicates that they will be hiring soon. Didn't UPS visit job fairs too when their window was closed?

Lots of stuff is up in the air. There is a plan, but the markets and such could change the plan at a moments notice.
All of these bankers have really screwed it up for a lot of us.

Thanks for the update. I went to this same job fair 5 months ago in May and the DAL HR person said they will start interviewing towards the end of this year and told me to keep updating my applications online. Do you think it would do me any good to go this job fair in Chicago on October 28? I am off that entire week so I could go but I am undecided as to whether it would do me any good to go this job fair since I have already met the recruiting manager at the last one and I have been updating my application since May of this year.

I don't think it ever hurts to get face time. There may be fewer people in attendance since hiring is not currently active. If that's the case it might mean longer face time for you. Also, if hiring does resume at the beginning of the year this could be one of the few career fairs offered between now and then.

Thanks for your advice. Although I think there might be even more people this time since there are more airlines furloughing than back in May. Still like you said it never hurts to get some face time. Keep me posted if you hear any more news regarding DAL hiring.

Crew Planning in the crew room this week, the AE will come out at the end of this month. They said there will be backfill.

Yes, but was it prior to Thursday?
If so that may have changed. The were whistling a different tune later in the week.

What tune were they whistling?

Talked to one of the Sr. Planners and he basically contradicted everything we all have been hearing. I am not going to post details, as it is the only time that I have heard that.
