Hawaii,
Yeah I like them too (NFL on the 757) but they operate at such wierd times they don't normally fit into my commuter lifestyle. That and I'm fat enough already! Ferd |
Our VP says there will be no furloughs. I agree that things will be alot more clear after the SLI and we all need to just sit back and relax till Nov.
As for KC10........I agree with Bluto, most NWA guys think YOU will be just fine in the SLI. Relax junior guy:) |
And he is correct. Not furloughs per say. Everyone will have a job, it may just not be the job you are doing today.
In this market and economy that is not a bad thing. |

Your totally right about the food. We've been doing NFL charters and college football charters for years on the 767 and baseball charters on the 75s and 737s. I think we're the largest carrier for the NFL?? Just did a Oregon football charter a while back and it's amazing how well those guys are treated and how much food they board.

Funny, most DL guys think you will be fine. At a bare minimum, I think any NWA pilot who is based at MSP or DTW and stays at MSP or DTW will be fine no matter how the list comes out. |

I'll be fine one way or the other. As a '95 hire I sit in a Delta dead zone (you didn't hire for years either side of me) so DOH and relative seniority are both a wash as I seem to be in the same spot with either method. Now, if the arbatrators do something off the wall............oh well. So, I ment no harm in my comment. I realize the stress at the bottom for guys on both our lists. I'm serious when I say I keep my ear to the ground and everything that has been said leads me to believe you (junior) guys will be ok. There may be alot of moving of deck chairs around, but I believe by this time next year the new Delta will be adding bodies to the bottom of the list. Now, not to sound like a broken record......BUT, remember that no post merger new hire will want to hear about this. After years of listening to Reds & Greens talk about how they got screwed, I can assure you.....it's real boring. All the best my friend, Ferd |

All the best my friend, Ferd First of all, no offense taken to anything anyone says. Its really out of our hands now and I hope we can all work together afterward no matter how it comes out. Oh and I have some honor and self esteem. We agreed to abide by the arbitration so we will. I won't try to pick up my marbles and go home (venting about the losers at LCC over with). I do have to disagree with your analysis of your own position. By DOH, you would be senior to me. By relative seniority I would be a fair amount senior to you. So I suspect the difference between the two would be as sustantial for you as it would be for me. What I don't think can or will be accounted for is movement between bases once any (if there are any) fences come down. I hope I am wrong, but I feel certain there will be many more NWA pilots moving to DL bases than the other way around. |

When we kicked all this around (here and the national ALPA board) in Feb, it seemed like a wash. But, maybe I misunderstood your guy's technique on figuring RS. Like you said, out of our hands now.....I'm not going to lose any sleep about it now. I don't know how much movement there will be between bases. Most of us commute and have a pattern down and it may not change much. I would suggest the flight schedules the new company comes up with will drive it alot. Also, trust me when I tell ya the ice/cheese heads aint go'en anywhere. Momma won't let them :D Ferd |

I'm really hoping this goes somewhat smoothly.... My dad was a greenbook, and I grew up hearing all about the "ninjas" and such. What a mess! It's gonna be even funnier when I fly with a redbook guy and he sees the big Republic Airlines sticker I've got on the side of my flight kit! |
