Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Sounds like the number of jets that LCC deferred orders of. We would get a really good deal! That would be more than the 5.7% increase!

Also wondering why Delta bothered to report the Airbus monthly sales figures on Delta Net. While they occasionally post news from manufacturers, it seems like the news they choose to post usually has some impact on our operation. The number fits (within two jets) to some other numbers talked about earlier this year.
Quote:
... and an order for 52 A320 aircraft worth $4 billion from an unnamed airline, Reuters reported.
Well if Airbus started making RJs - then the $4 Billion order might just be Delta.
Scoop
"The majority of the SLC positions will be funded by increased utilization of the A320 which will require relatively few displacements from existing A320 categories. " -Weekly Updates
"(Dow Jones)--European commercial aircraft builder Airbus said Thursday it booked 74 orders in November, including an order for 52 narrow-bodied A320 jets from a customer that has asked to remain anonymous. "
"Airbus sold 74 new aircraft in November, including 15 sales at the Dubai air show and an order for 52 A320 aircraft worth $4 billion from an unnamed airline, Reuters reported." -WSJ
"Airbus said Thursday it had sold 225 aircraft in the first 11 months of the year, falling to a net tally of 194 orders after deducting 31 plane cancellations. Airbus is ahead of Boeing, which had net sales of 91 aircraft up to Nov. 24, the article said." -Deltanet
69 under-utilized DC-9s = 52 A320s with increased utilization...
Oh if ONLY. And oh if only we knew what was to replace the DC9 30s/40s.

At least they have the January Bid Packages out tonight.

I think the anticipated training from the AE alone is deterring from hiring right now. All the bodies moving through BOTH training centers as a result of the AE will simply not leave room for new hires. JMO.
So, yes, It is preferable to get the base realignment done before you start adding new hires in to the mix. Add to the fact that there will be about 110 crews surplussed on the 9 it would create quite a headache. Not that the will not do it, they might still pull the trigger on hiring, but the simple fact is we have a lot to do just to get our house aligned.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to see this, but I'm skeptical.
