If the c series performs well, I think we will order more of them and you will see it in every base as the leases on the 717 expire.
Why open up another base when you will have to draw it down in 5-7 years or even sooner
They are already moving the flying. There is no cost to open a base in MSP verses adding the flying to DTW or NYC. The cost is in closing LAX.

Not now but if they know the 717 won’t be here in 5 years it would cost them to displace from 4 bases instead of 3

Same number of crews. Does not matter if it’s three or 10 bases.

Are you this bad at math? More bases usually means= more credit. Especially as you push it out to a pile of bases as the flying moves around. (virtual cuts it down via chasing credit and cutting it).

I'd say you're better than this, but you're a known entity of poor information around here.

As previously mentioned, it goes against guarantee. I wouldn't bet my house on it since I haven't done it personally and understanding the contract can be very challenging, but I'm fairly certain that if you YS above guarantee, that flying is paid at single pay with no payback days. So basically a WS with lower priority. A WS is priority #2 while a YS is #5 in the trip assignment ladder.

You don’t seem to understand the concept involved. They only open new bases in a static fleet if it will reduce credit. That is why they are not going to open a 717 base in MSP. It does not reduce credit based on the marketing plan they have at this time. It has zero to do with how long they plan on keeping the airframes. If they sign 20 year leases on the 717 tomorrow it would not make a bit of difference in basing choices.

What you've described is a GS by a reserve pilot. YS on your X days means you're effectively waiving the X day for free. There are rare circumstances when that's a good idea: ie you're coming up on 5 days of availability and there's a nasty 5 day that will almost certainly be yours, and there's a nice 2 or 3 day going out on your last X day. Or it could finish you off for the month. But you do not get the X day back and it does not tack on over the res guarantee.

The poster asked about a WS by a reserve pilot, but there's no such thing. WS is a trip request by a regular line holder.

iPad order form is up on the Deltanet. (Assuming it hasn't crashed again like it did 10 minutes ago .)

Just ordered mine. May 2nd.

Two more reserve blocks before I rid myself of this POS.

Debating if I should do the buyback. They are allegedly decent tablets with the Corporate Bloatware removed.
