Off topic question about vacation. I only have 4 days which they assigned me random days in October, can I use those to drop a 4 day trip or 4 days of reserve? Sorry for the newbie question, my mentor is out of town this week otherwise I’d ask him. Thanks!

When you bid, you will be preawarded the vacation credit and will be off on the vacation days. You can move them when you bid for your October schedule via vacation slide in PBS. If you decide to do reserve, you will have to look at reserve chart in bid pack to see how many on-call days will be required. 4 vacation days is worth 14 hours.

Thanks Hockeypilot.

There will be plenty of summers during your career where you'll be flying you butt off. Consider this a gift, go fishing.

if you want to use your days during the summer instead of Oct, look into vacation move up. Also, IVD, or individual vacation days, are used to drop a trip after you get your schedule by borrowing future vacation days. This might work for you but restrictions apply, see pwa for details. If you want to use it in July, have your request in before the 20th.

If you are referring to using them to drop something, I'm assuming your talking about IVD's. You put that in the leaves section of ICREW and it generally follows the rules as an APD except you get paid vacation for those days instead of nothing.

Info page of the monthly bid package has a link to an excel spreadsheet that you put that info into and it will lay it out for you as to how many on call days and what your pay will be.
