The self-proclaimed NERD's may have a problem with this.

The names are easy to get with your iPad using iCrew Mobile/iCrew wih or without the flight plan. Takes about 30 seconds. Should be a non-issue.
See above.

See above.

Or even easier the MiCrew app.

I wonder if their guidance has been updated as well.

Hasn't that been the requirement for the past 6-9 months...or more? Thought the OBL/A/Lead/Purser was supposed to provide names and their position.

Yes, it's in their book. It's been in there a while.

Not just them... some were resistant to it. I've always handed them the briefing guide with the name I prefer to go by as well as the FO and circle the flight time. (not Captain Hollywood level, but hey).

It's not that hard to give us their names and the code... plus it's codified in their book (and now ours) for them to give us that and their jumpseat positions. A crew got violated not long ago for not knowing where each of the stews were.

The crew today gave a little pushback on it but, hey... what's done right is what is done right.

What reg/FOM chapter and verse (at the time) was violated?

I was wondering the same thing, which is also what I was alluding to in my 1st post. Exactly what FAR can a crew be violated for? This isn't something that was ever taught in the classroom, sim training, or OE and somebody was violated for it?

break break

I think I've got this right but can somebody verify? If you are MD'd you don't get a seat lock in your new category do you? And if the category from which you were MD'd posts a vacancy you get 1st dibbs out of seniority to go back (in seniority order of other MD'd pilots), correct?

1) No seat lock/category freeze for an MD.

2) Yup...22.F.12 says you can be reinstated without regard to standing bids of senior pilots if the company subsequently posts a vacancy with an earliest conversion within 6 bid periods of your MD conversion.
