Sometimes it's because the probe on the jetbridge isn't put through the door. If it's in the 60s outside the probe will call for heat and then the plane gets hot. Not all the bridges use the probe or even have one, but it'll cause weird temperature outputs.
Soooooo, getting probed is a good thing? Scoop :) |

Funny you mention that, my wife and daughter over spring break went on a trip out to Singapore and back... they sat in Delta one for 4 of the 6 legs, my daughter asked me " where do they go after the meal service? Is there some sort of secret hiding place?" My wife said that you couldn't find one, and other than the meal, they weren't around to do any service or check on anyone. Of course, as a nonrev they kept a low profile, and they aren't going to ***** or complaine, but she said if she was a full fair paying customer she would of been furious...
...truth is I don't think we have the level of service that we think we have... If you do think it's too rough for carts, then by all means, tell them. But keep in mind they will run through a complete dinner service at the beginning of international in moderate/severe turbulence to get the breaks off on time. Human nature I guess, but it's hurting our business. |

I heard a 2nd hand story on my last trip about an FAA inspector who was giving one of our captains a hard time about the FA names and seat positions. As it was told to me, the inspector claimed you had to get the FA names and it was a requirement to have their positions as well. I don't doubt the story is true, but is that really a requirement? I think I've seen the lead FA write down positions once.

I heard the same thing from a LCP. He told me to expect something in writing "soon." Also, we don't need a physical piece of paper from the lead, we just have to check who is in what position. I have been doing this for about a month now and 20% of the time the FAs are in different positions than the paperwork.
