I wonder if they're actually smart enough to make the trips like that to entice people to pick them up so they can deviate on the front/back end...

Could be an interesting June on ATL 320 A... every day the reserve count is black with as little as 8 avail on some days in a 315 pilot category.

I smell green...

I smell future displaced 88A’s will be expected to be added to 320A. At least the ones that can hold it.

The current 50 are displacing through October on the projected training list, so likely future displacements wont be soon enough to cover any short categories over this Summer.. They understaffed a growing fleet and overstaffed a shrinking one.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the recent new crew resources boss? When AH was in charge it seemed like things were a bit more evenenly staffed, but we did a ton of training....maybe they are saving on training costs, only to be losing on the backend with staffing inequaties? Penny wise and pound foolish...

I'd really like to make a change to this part of the contract. It sucks as a RES when there's no open time in-base and all of a sudden you get the 40 minute call out to go cover some NYC garbage with middle seat DH on both ends and 9 hours at the JFK crown. Just as bad when you see there's no RES coverage and just as you think you're gonna get that juicy GS the trip is covered by an OOB RES. Contractually legal, but just feels like cheating. I'd propose any OOB trip covered by a RES costs the company the DH legs as pay/credit above guarantee. It would be a nice benny in return for the kick in the junk or it would encourage the company to more equally staff various categories.
