I thought all our applicants required a college degree, not sure how you made it through without ever taking math but congratulations either way.
I didn't say you had to show up in 40 minutes or get in trouble as you seem to have latched on to. 40 minute call out, go read the last paragraph 10 more times if it hasn't sunk in. Let me know if you need help counting to 10, my college had math. Now take a deep breath, don't kick your dog, and stop being so angry when another pilot wants to improve the profession. Mongo |

Yes, there is. My last callout was 40 minutes until report. No repercussions for being late, but that's what happened. FO on the same 40 minute callout didn't even make push and they had to hold the plane. Any other incorrect all encompassing statements you need to make?

There is no 2 hour rule, unwritten or otherwise.

What CNI said. What you're referring to was always there, verbiage was changed (in our favor) to align itself with the PWA. However, many didn't actually read it, they just latched on to the 2 hours and rushed to the boards/forums to further their DALPA sucks agenda.

There is no "40 minute callout", nor 1 hour, nor 2 hours. And there most definitely should not have been any repercussions for being "late". There is, however, a requirement to "promptly report" for an assignment. It was your personal choice to rush for a "40 minute callout". Clearly you are not based in NYC or LAX, because it would never work.
They can call all they like. You will "promptly report" when you get there. PWA Sec 23.S.7.d

Hand Hans Hans... relax brotha. People aren’t ripping you for 40 minutes. And ripping them for giving their respective answers sounds like you are still in high school never mind the prestigious college you took your math courses at. With all due respect you may of had an outstanding education, but still were a sucker to jump on Scheduling’s grenade and rush to the airport. Sometimes you can’t teach life skills from a book or audio tapes like hooked on phonics I guess. Hope the deadhead buffed out well for ya!
Mongo All that said, my reply was juvenile and I apologize to CX for being an ass in the reply.

2 hours has not been written into the PWA because we have negotiated the leeway to be reasonable and use good judgement. Yet there is always going to be someone who is going to ruin it for all of us by stretching “promptly available” and “general area” to unreasonableness. As in trying to be 2 hours flying time away on short call, or live 110 miles away from the airport. (2 hours times 55 mph driving I’m guessing). |
