International fleet correct. Domestically incorrect. You can PD a single day within any groupings. I've done it numerous times before on three day blocks.

Hmm....I've been denied numerous times trying to drop down to a 48-hour block of on-call days domestically.

What was the reserve coverage? Only worked for me if reserves available were greater than required. I just double checked a month where I had three PDs. Two in separate 3-day blocks and one in the middle of a five day.

Hmmm... interesting. I've definitely P/D days before where I've ended up with either one day or two days of reserve availability after the drop went through.

I’ve tried to pd days in the middle of a block and it always denies it. If I get to a safe place and care enough, I’ll look it up. Pretty sure it’s laid out clearly in the PWA

23.S.9. For international, you have to meet minimum separation rules. Otherwise, a "PD request will be granted if, at the time of processing, reserve availability is sufficient."

If memory serves it would say “violates off day grouping” so maybe I was trying to create a 5 th group in my 4-99-4 cat

What's the maximum block we're allowed to be assigned in 1 day for an unaugmented crew? I could've swore it was 8 hours of block in a day but I just saw a trip in open time with 8:10 scheduled block.

It depends on your report time. If you report for duty between 0500-1959 (based on the time of your last acclimated station, which is on shown on your rotation) your max block is 9 hours. Otherwise, it's 8 hours.

It’s always 8 hours if it’s a transoceanic flight. Domestic can go to 9.
