Non-rev question: trying to travel with the family in March to EDI, Scotland. No nonstop service on Delta metal. Do we have privileges on KLM or AF to nonrev AMS or CDG to EDI? Can't seem to find it clearly spelled out on Deltanet anywhere.

I second this...and ride the train! It's GREAT!

Or fly DAL to LHR and VA to EDI with a train backup. At least then you get a shot at Delta One, on KLM and AF, not so much with a ZED.

I had a car when I went through new-hire training, it was nice to be able to get to the store, and see a friend once or twice. And my crashpad for the simulator time needed a car.
But when I went through initial on other airplanes years later, I didn't have a car and didn't miss it much. The combination of positive space home, packed sim schedule and studying, left me with very few times I wanted to get out of the hotel. Uber/Lyft is good for getting to the grocery store, and a rental car for a day or two is good if you just want to get away from the hotel. |
Question...when using your APD during a reserve month can you drop days that would result in a reserve rules violation. ie. less than the minimum days ON? Thanks.

So the way I look at it is: If they don't have to pay you...no rules. If they have to still pay you...you follow the rules. |

From what I understand, you can do anything you want with P/D and AP/D (yes...yes...assuming there is reserve coverage) and violate all the 3-99-5 or whatever rules are listed for the bid. But if you start moving X days and days on reserve around, then you have to follow the rules set up for your category.
