Do the math on a 5 day reporting at 11 am on day 1 and getting back at 7 pm day 5 and it will come clear to you what the companies issues would be.

NW used to have 1 for 3.45, than after BK went to 1 for 3.6.

So does anybody know if the Northwest call sign will be gone once we have SOC? When flying a DC9-30 will we soon be saying Delta 7076, Northwest colors, taxi with Zulu?

I know it will be gone eventually, just kind of sad for me to think about. :(

Even as a commuter, do you really want 5 day trips worth 15 hours?

You bring up a good point. Right now, we (DAL-S) are not made up of commuters, but with this next bid we'll should see an increase in commuting. I don't want to see long sits or low time trips, but would this require that we scrap the 5:15/day rig?

BTW, why aren't reserves covered under the various rigs. We get paid what we fly while our "much better" REG folks get the benefit of these rigs. This could explain the several times I've gotten trips with the phrase "reserve only" in the remarks.

Before the 5 days were worth 27-30 hours, than they went to 25 hours.

Actually, they do bring a "pot of money" to the table, but only they know how much is in it, and they are not ...er... candid about the amount. You will not get more than the pot contains, but you can easily get less. Whatever sums you do not scoop from the pot will be taken back to HQ and divided up.

No the call signs will change at inventory cut over, end of January...and there will be no call signs of Delta in Northwest colors, just a Delta call sign.

"Mid-December", according to the latest Flight Ops bulletin. The bulletin also addresses where the equipment is being shifted around.

For those who haven't signed up for the various company bulletins to be sent to their personal e-mails, you really should.

This is very true, and you should sign up. They are forth right when they can be.

Also, there may be more option on the AE than are there now, so do not just put in your bid and let it sit after the AE comes out. Read the AE, the accompanying letter and then rebid.

Pre bankruptcy contract, we did have 3.5 to 1. Our concessionary contract changed it to 3.75 to 1. We have always had the 5 day domestic trips under either rig...

Personally, even as a commuter I prefer 4 days to 5, thus the running joke, "What is the difference between a 4 day trip and a 5 day?" The 5 day is twice as long...
