Thanks for this post! I’m pretty much a computer novice and going to show my ignorance in the following. I know enough to do what I want but this tracking software is BS. How do you disable “significant locations” on an iPhone and does this have any effect on using things like google maps or city maps to go? If I just want to clear the history, (because it does interfere) how is that done?
I suspect the pop ups I get saying something like “9 minutes to Steve’s Bar and Grill” are associated with this...

I think you will be surprised when you look at all the locations it has mapped that you frequent. Sometimes it can pull up a name of a business that is next to where you actually went. Like my daughter takes tumbling and gymnastics class next to a pawn shop. The gym shows up in Significant Locations as the pawn shop. Lol.

Y’all are conflating OS-level location tracking with app-level location services.
The workplace app doesn’t even request your location information.

I don’t give a rip about that sky hub stuff. It doesn’t bother me. I’d suspect the union doesn’t want people posting stuff that will get them in trouble.
I’m just giving them answers about the iPhone and location services. (Related to Denny mentioning what he’d seen about location tracking)
Settings, Privacy, Location Services, scroll to the bottom and tap System Services, then near the bottom is location services. You will see the clear history at very bottom on location services. I leave mine on but clear it a lot. If you turn it off, it will affect certain aspects of Apple maps and pictures, etc. The data is encrypted, so it’s not supposed to be readable to Apple.

More importantly, though, why not say that instead of saying it’s about location and privacy concerns?

The only thing more ridiculous than dues-funded booze violence in a hospitality suite is dues money being spent to “protect” someone dumb enough to post offensive comments on a company website. You don’t even have to post anything!

you’re giving misleading information (not accusing you of doing so on purpose) by conflating OS- and app-level location information use. The app doesn’t even request location services.

I never said it requested location services. Like I said above, I was simply responding to an article where Denny mentioned seeing an article about tracking on an iPhone. That’s all. I’m not conflating anything. I don’t worry one iota about SkyHubba bubba. Thank you though and have a good day.
