Seems like after the hat gets wrinkled there is no going back. Tried to iron my hat and failed to get it crisp. Tried again with a hand steamer and failed. Ended up buying a new hat. Anybody had any success?

Nah they're all POS. Not just the fabric but the cheap floppy flexifoam ring and most if not all have the bills sewn on slightly offset, buttons don't align symmetrically etc.

The secret is to keep an emergency pizza tightly wedged in the cloth. Great results!

The secret to keeping your hat looking new is not jamming it in the back pocket of your bag.

Oh! Thanks for the tip! I'll try that next time.

Uhhhhh, who cares if it's wrinkled. If you are that concerned about it, take it off the band and get it dry cleaned. At least they used to be able to come off. Haven't looked at my current one to see if that's still removable.

Time was when nobody wanted their hat to look new, lest they be considered a rookie. Remove the plastic grommet and stomp the hat into “old pro” condition.

American was the serious pro at that. I tried and tried to emulate. Finally realized that gabardine and wool are different.

Would putting my hat in the front pocket of my bag keep it looking new?
