Classing it up.
That's awesome...now how about something else on the t.v. screens at the gates.

Everyone’s doing their own thing these days (books, devices ...) No need for any TV — certainly not “Golf Tips” from CNN.

Thank goodness. It's embarrassing when you have to open the door and tell the lead to get the OAL jumpseater who has a row all to themselves that they have to sit on the jump even though the plane is half empty

I guess I missed a change. I thought the jumpseater riding in the cockpit restriction only applied if your WDR was restricted to stay at gate for performance.

It just came out. Stay at gate for performance is common on the 717, probably other NBs as well. Now that statement won't force the JSer in back to sit up front.

What's this 'half empty' airplane of which you speak? I haven't seen one of those mythical things in over a year. The closest I get to a FC seat is on my way back to the center seat in the gulag.

Yellow Slip Question:

I’m in the two day bucket long call Th/Fr and I’m first in line. There’s one open two day rotation looks like I will get it. So, on Tuesday I put in a Yellow slip to be first in line for short call on Thursday. Im assuming the trip will instead go to the next guy in the 2 day bucket, as I will get my desired short call RAP. (I’m assuming they don’t get many people requesting to be put in short call)

Scheduling ignores my yellow slip request and instead assigns me the trip on long call instead of placing me on short call. Scheduler told me they cover the trips via long call first THEN look at the yellow slips for SC. Is this correct? I think it sucks, as someone else will probably get a short call RAP they don’t want and I’ve got a trip I don’t want. I’ll call DALPA later, it’s too early this AM.

They have always covered the trips first and then assigned shortcall. It would be great if they did it the other way around because as a senior reserve you could really manipulate trip assignments.

Scheduling is correct. Trips are covered first, then SC
