Eck,
I was just trying to answer Bigflya's questions. He sounds fairly new. You are correct, bid what you want....want what you bid!!! :D |

Oh wow, you mean the new hires who felt they were entitled to widebody Intl. flying might lose it and this will be Deltas fault. Very interesting.
I doubt it. |

Have you actually run into one single newhire in the ER who has expressed a sense of entitlement?
I doubt it. "No way this SLI will end up fair to me. My position from day one as a Delta pilot allows me hold 17 -20 days off a month. NYC 767ERB. We have a great quality of life here folks. How will the SLI not distroy my quality of life considering I am not even thru my first year? Our union has a duty to protect my relative seniority and present career expectations." |

It sounds to me like he is expressing that he feels entitled to keep his position after the merger, not that he was entitled to that position in the first place. I am not saying that I agree with his position either way. I am just expressing my doubt that any DAL newhire who was placed in to the ER felt entitled to that position as a newhire. |
No one feels entitled. I think that all New hires that have looked at the AE bids realize that their day in the sun is over. Even without a bad SLI. Most will probably have to bid down if they want to hold a line in the coming years.
Now NYC is another story compleatly..... |

So much for "no bump no flush" then... is that what you are saying? |
That is what I am saying.

Because of a few things. NYC will probably stay junior, but overall, if the Jr guys look at the preferences for the AE, there are a lot of people finally getting off their duff and bidding up. Not all of them will come over, but many will. Even NYC has a ton of people deciding to bid the ER.
It has nothing to do with the SLI. The SLI could exacerbate it. |
