I believe what they said was;depending on the economy and how it effects future loads they will need about 150-200 pilots for the currently planned summer flying.Again the operative words.DEPENDING ON THE ECONOMY.

What he states is correct, but nothing is in writing or official until after the merger.

To do the summer on schedule we need to hire about that many. It is a known fact. RA is not approving the hiring until after the SLI and DCC.

I would be surprised if a deal isn't struck with the union to bring guys over from NWA who would otherwise be furloughed instead of hiring off the street

secret for you, *whisper* nobody is furloughed *end whisper here*. ;)

With that said, pay attention on wednesday, we will discuss our earnings report and it should be the best in the industry. Soon this whole merger will be done and we can put our strengths together to make the New DAL the industry leader.

It appears that furloughs from NWA may be mitigated with their current position opening. All of it should become more clear in the ensuing months.

It is about ready to get real interesting here.
