I don't like to be mean, but the CRJ-200 SUCKS & I'll be happy when they're all gone. It's a horrible product through no fault of the pilots, but I just think they were a HUGE mistake.
I have to agree on this one. DC9s and A320s makes commuting so much easier. I wonder if the reduction of CRJ200 flights will result in more DC9 flights? |
Looking at this displacement bid and trying to get ducks in the proverbial row. What is the crash pad/transportation situation in SLC and CVG?

[QUOTE=forgot to bid;659189]There is a new CL604, the CL605. I read an article on it and guess what, they said it climbs poorly at high altitudes and although its obviously better than the CRJ-200 (what did you guys call it? The climb restricted jet?) but evidently not by much. You'd think they'd fix that issue by now, especially on the $28M corporate version. I will say, FWIW the CL300 is an awesome plane and while I'm sure the CL605 goes further the truth is you should just be content and pay its bills on your black amex card and use the miles on Delta for those long range trips.
The 604 actually is not a bad corporate airplane. Even the earlier challengers starting with the 601 were pretty good. The early 601 had a range of about 2800 miles, the 604 and 605 both have ranges in excess of 4000 miles. They aren't speed demons and don't climb straight to 410 but do cruise at those altitudes after burning off a little gas. The problem in the 200 lies in that it was never designed to be an airliner. They just stuck a plug in it and didn't improve its performance any. More people and less fuel than the corporate version and voila you have a POS airliner. As corporate airplanes go the challenger is no slouch, just won't set your hair on fire in the process. |
I have a different pay protection question.
In the last AE, I was MD'd from the NYC7ERB. I opted for ATLM88B, although I could have held NYC73NB. Because there are guys junior to me holding 73N, I'm only getting the pay difference between 73N and 7ER pay. If in this next round of displacements, there are no pilots junior to me holding 73N (regardless of base), will my pay protection increase to the difference between M88 and 7ER, since the M88 is the most senior plane I can hold? |

Oh, and great way to welcome the "world" to the USA.....dilapidated and rundown terminals.....awesome. |

Take MKE for example. It was one 88 a day and six or seven CR9/E170 flights. It is now Five 88's and one CR9. That is what I call improvement! Also IMHO this bid points to about 50 more departures a week out of NYC on the 88/73N. |

Dont know the answer to your question, but all I have to say is that I despise NY. I am so tired of that city. Hate it. I have talked to plenty other NYC based FO's that feel the same, blows my mind how our airline is increasing flying out of NY......sweet.......3 hour delays just turned into 4 hour delays. Good thinking Delta.

This too shall change. Now only if a few other airlines would cooperate. ;)
Guess I dont see the big picture but just blows my mind how we can be the "Premier Global Airline" yet have most of our bases on the east coast. I live in NY and cant stand it so I am not biased......at least I dont think:) |

I don't know of many guys that have a crash pad in SLC. Check the flights from the city you are commuting from - SLC should be called RJ city which can make the commute tough. Some of this may have changed, my information is a couple of years old. Scoop |
Are you insinuating that there may be some deal/arrangement with that non-union BLUE airline in NY vs. that sorta union airline that is also large in NY with a call sign that sounds like "cat****".... Would that be an interesting turn of events... Having everyone thinking lcc for lga space/slots... Good smoke screen if that is the case.
