Sheesh. Carl The truth, we all know it. |
The seniority list is what it is. Any attempt at modification, ie. trying to remove fences, is gonna open up a hole can of worms. I can just imagine the lawsuits etc.
I think the vast majority of us "Southies" have put it behind us and are trying to look ahead. I remember flying with some old Western pilots a couple of years after the Western merger and they were so bitter I figured they were going to find an early grave.I never said anything because I had no dog in the fight. But it taught me a lesson. Going through the rest of your career and life bitter and ****ed off is no way to live a long and enjoyable life (this applies to both groups)!! Hey we fly airplane for a living........How cool is that?!!!!!:D |

The truth, we all know it. Yeah, I know I'm not a Old Delta guy and have no real claim to this thread. But, I am an Old NWA guy and have seen and heard these unproductive comments and conversations for 14 years. If it makes any of you naysayers feel any better, I will enjoy Christmas AND Thanksgiving for the rest of my career, because for some reason God has given me a "gift" and allowed me to enjoy and be thankful for the things he has given me. More importantly, he has given me the wisdom to know what I can and can't change. Apparantly those "gifts" were in short supply when the time came to pass out presents. It's over (when you want it to be) and there is nothing your beyaching can do to change it. New K Now |

FWIW sir, I never said that. I have my reasons that I don't like Mr Bloch, none of which apply to you.. Oh, and BTW, I got neither retirement nor a payraise out of this deal so stop YOUR whining.

Nothing of the above is correct. Nothing.
Again, everything above is either incorrect or your own personal speculation. I would be willling to look at anything, but that's not the point. The point is that fences and seniority numbers are one in the same. Each were CONSTRUCTED based on the other's existence. This is absolutely clear in the arbitrator's final decision. Once again, if we all decided we wanted to "look" at this again, we would have to legally "look" at the entire Seniority List Integration - not just the fences or the seniority numbers. You may get a few 777s as replacements but even if every 747 was dumped and all 787s cancelled you sure as hell would not get all of the future orders, rest assured. It would probably be divided by some type of ratio. A ratio that would probably be the same as in a fenceless airline...what a concept! No battles over replacements! Carl |

Your boy, Carl, decided that he needed to take a shot at all the blue tails. I merely responded in kind--with the truth. You guys got a good deal on the SLI. We could go into the details ad nauseam. I will agree with you that it is over, and unlikely that fences will drop. If you truly had wisdom, you would not respond when provoked, and if you did, would realize that your boys Carl and Ferd were just as guilty of not letting it lie--as are you. Nuff said. |

Thanks for the advice, Blaine. (When provoked, don't respond.) Gotcha. ;) For the record, I typically respond the same way to anyone who talks about how lucky the other side is. Red. Blue. It doesn't matter. If I missed a post by Ferd--who apologized for any misunderstanding--or Carl like that, let me know. Otherwise, you are right. Enough said. Merry Christmas. :) |

Northies, Red Tails, Blue Tails, I guess Green Tails, Southies, Western, DALN, DALS, FNWA, FDAL...
What are we becoming, Continental? ;) Nah. From what I can tell from having FNWA/Northies/Red Tails on our jumpseat and my interactions with other pilots on the line, the SLI is done. Next up is integration, SOC and of course that first joint AE. But the SLI isn't even mentioned except once in a while by a person I wouldn't care to be. |
