"Does it matter that I'm on MIL leave while the AE comes out? Thanks."

MIL Leave and a Learjet F/O or does that equal a C-21?

If you are gone greater than six months from the company you can choose what category you would like to go back to as long as someone junior to you is in the category. So the AE kinda becomes null and void.

Don't know if that info will help you or not?

It could prove to be an interesting day.....

From what I am being told, a lot of the plans will become a lot clearer tomorrow.

Mil Leave

I'm actually a recent new hire at Delta, flying a desk out here at Camp Al Udeid for my Mil Leave. I have an option to come back before or after 6 months or stay longer if things get too ugly. Any advice.....have this gut feeling and looking at the numbers that I will get displaced out of my 7ER seat in NY, I reside in ATL. Should I put in an AE bid or am I in no man's land?

I wasn't commenting relative to aircraft deliveries. Simply pointing out if they want to fiill January training slots, I believe the contract requires one month notice. The bids have to be open for 10 days before they close, so a posting on the 20th with a close on the 30th should meet those requirements. But as you say, if they don't need the slots in Jan, then the bid can wait.

Training for Jan has to be posted on or before 5 Dec. They could still delay the bid a few more days and get people into training slots however I am sure they would like to leave themselves a few days to work out the training schedule.

I would definitely have MD bids in the system. If you don't want to move off NYC7ER then don't put in AE or VD bids. You could put ATL7ER or ATL767 on your AE or VD and get to your residence without going to training.

If you get a bid where school is required, keep the training planners informed about your MIL intentions. They will appreciate it when they are building the sim schedules.

Yeah, I guess they could. But after the bid closes it usually takes a day or two to get the award out. Then as you say, a few days to work out the training schedule. I would say today or tomorrow is the latest if they want to fill Jan training slots.

Is this the same AE I have been hearing about for 6 months?

DAL4EVER 11-20-2008 09:32 AM

The meeting on the AE was to occur early this afternoon with the results posted later today. There will also be a memo sent out describing any further reaching decisions this evening should it be necessary.
