Well, do not worry about that. Just put down what you want. If NYC 88B is in there I am sure you will be fine. ;)

No, the displacement screen has several pages. I've got 32 entries in my displacement bid, that covers 3 pages.

I got to "taste" that commute the other day... What a nightmare!! Yes, the bid is in there. You never know, though, crazier things have happened!

Cool! I figured it out! Thanks!

Do not forget to put your NYC 777A bid in ;)

ACL65pilot, hmmm... now I think I remember you saying a few pages back about getting displaced into something fun... 777? hmmm.

I do remember January or February 08 hearing that NYC 777 would probably show up on a new hire drop within a few months - thats before hiring came to a stop. Gosh, if that thing goes super junior or someone is displaced into it I just couldn't imagine how many times that FO would hear: "DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY YEARS IT TOOK ME TO GET TO THAT SEAT YOU'RE IN?!?"

Every time I hear that I simply reply with, "but you would have taken it as a new hire if it was offered, right." That usually ends that conversation.

I second that. Because the A/Es will shuffle aircraft to different bases, what you can hold in a particular base before the bid can change significantly after the A/E bid closes, especially in times of significant fleet growth and/or retirements. You can specify how junior you're willing to be to accept an A/E bid by specifying a percentage value from the bottom of an aircraft category under the "low %" column. For example if you input 20 under the "low %" column, you're saying you'll only take a bid on that position if you're at least 20% above the bottom pilot i.e. in the top 80%. So bid what you truly want and good luck.

Hiredgun,
Before anyone goes and puts 20% in there AE bid, we better clear up some possible confusion. I am almost certain you put in 80% if you want 20% below you. Enter 70% if you want 30% below you and so on. Low% means what is the lowest percent you want to be included in...1% being most senior and 99% being most junior. Can any bidding wizards back me up on that.

Cycle-
Be careful. It sounds like you've got it, but remember there's a big difference between voluntary and mandatory displacements.

Your VOLUNTARY displacement bid will normally mirror your AE bid exactly. Both of those are bids that you want. Don't put anything on those lists unless you want it.
Your MANDATORY displacement list can include all those positions you want but it should also include positions you DON'T want unless you are forced out of your current position. You need to include those in the order you prefer or crew resources will just assign you one.

Clear as mud?
