PARTY! Where's 80? He's usually up right now.

I'll go back to bed in a bit. I'm used to getting up for the baby but the baby didn't get up, just me.

And in the spirit of David Dirty Old Man Letterman and his OBL routine where he ends every segment with "oh yeah, death to america"... the AE is still not out.

FTB :)

Nice - makes a mockery of the "hired, not acquired" crowd. Anyone gonna make a bag sticker of our family tree?

I am sure that I am misunderstanding you. But are you implying that former Northwest pilots should not be able to transistion to the 777 if they replace the 747s prior to the 5 year point?

If the company had gone through with their original intent to park all the 747's within 3 years of SOC and replace them with 777-300 flying the same routes they would have been NWA fenced aircraft anyway I read the SLI. They would have been direct replacement aircraft. That would however lead to the unusual situation of 2 777 categories in DTW and never the two could cross. Need a reserve pilot for a short notice departure? Sorry I am a prior NW and can't fly Delta 777's. Have a irregular operation and you have a Delta crew but a NW 777? Sorry canceled.
I suppose you could attempt to fence by percentage but we know how well that worked with Republic and NW and I don't read that in the SLI as the intent of the arbitraitor.

Hope everyone had a fun New Years Eve! I was sleeping away when the ball dropped. :)

Sounds like a good reason to get rid of fences to me.

80 is on the bus and just about at work now. Still not sure what this whole "morning" thing is all about. Good luck to all on the bid!

Yeah, that should be easy. One of the reasons the arbitrators picked the SLI methodology that they did, was due to the 5 years fences. So all we have to do is re-do the seniority numbers without fences, then get rid of the fences.

Easy.

You watching the Burn Notice Marathon?

I wish I had. We, (me and 3 yr. old baby girl:)) watched the Wall-E marathon. Didn't find the BN marathon till 2ish this morning. The Michael Irvin episode--Thermite melting thru the engine, very cool! Now back to awaiting my fate.
