Outstanding 1011. Stay warm. :)

I imagine that because of the confusion there will not be a projected category list (??) published for a while now.

It would be hard to imagine this does not include a 777-300, or similar jet.

From my memories of being over in NRT years ago, JAL operations were HUGE. There were 747-400's all over the place. Yes, I know. Maybe that's why they are in financial trouble.

I believe they only looked at the people that were AE into new category, and not the entire category at the end of the conversion window, per the contractual language. This would have put me above the 60% qualifier......

If you look on the other forum, there is at least one other pilot that CR called and told him they had not given him his proper award and gave him the choice of accepting it, staying put, or taking his original award.

I'll keep you posted, as it's possible that I'm mis-interpreting contract language, but I don't think I am.

I just got a call, also. They said that after going through the bid again, I should not have been MD'd and that I would be able to stay in my position.

:)

Not trying to cause controversy, but why can't DAL get this right? Why can't we have a system like Navtech's PBS to run the AE? The contract language makes running the AE and the resulting MDs & VDs extremely complicated.

I heard some folks talking in Atlanta that the AE is run by hand !!! Surely this can't be. But after seeing the results and people getting phone calls, maybe so.

AK purchase may not be necessary. Code-share should do. I hope!

I know they are and why do you think I did not answer your question!

Seems the press is starting to leak!

We may not have to purcahse AK, but you do understand that when JAL announces DAL and not AMR, AMR and WN will both go after AK. That could punch a huge hole in our Asian feed. What better way to make sure that does not happen then to buy them.

Things are moving very quickly now. Going to be a fun week!

In any event, for me, it looks like really bad news for American.

The chips that were put in place a few weeks ago are starting to fall!

Or taking a bunch of 744's with red dots on them and spray painting over then with Widgets.

We may have more insight into this scenario in a few hours.
