It is a little early to worry about furloughs for the pilots.

When displacements are announced do they give you an opportunity to bid or are you required to simply maintain a displacement bid in ecrew at all times so as not to get screwed?

DAL FA, the no-furlough clause pertains strictly to the effects of the merger, not the effects of the economy, fuel, or [insert another excuse here].

Please take a deep breath and get the facts before you get worked up....

Quite the comedian.

Fact is that there are a few options on the table.

Frankly I would be very surprised if anything of substance came out prior to SLI. (Personal Opinion)

He said that because this is a PILOT forum whose members are supposed to be comprised, yourself not withstanding, of only pilots. Judging from some of your envious past posts, I think you need to attempt to get a flight slot in the military or drop $70,000 on civilian flight training. (and at least a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree if you don't already have one) After completing one or all of those you can then spend the next several years gaining the valuable experience you'll need to qualify for an invitation to interview for a Delta pilot position. After all that, if selected, then you too could enjoy the perks of which you seem so envious. That is of course if your "anyone could do your job" theory pans out.

I wouldn't get too excited about our "furlough protection". If the poo hits the fan I suspect we'll find it as iron clad and useful as last time.

OK pal, you can come down from the pedastall! You seem to think you are Gods gift to earth don't ya??? Who says I dont already hold some of those qualifications??? Who says i'm not going to flight school as we speak?

I am glad pilots at DL were able to get EVERYTHING they got, that comes with being unionized and being able to NEGOTIATE.
