I see you finally had your coffee there T?

Not suggesting anything but when the JAL deal is announced I get the feeling that many airlines are going to NEED to find bed partners.

Yup... Got my "Morning Joe". I am really enjoying the panic and finger pointing that is so evident within the "progressive" party.

I know what you were saying about jBlue and MCO.. mine was a lame attempt at humor. That would be an interesting merger wouldn't it? I'mm not sure it would mean much of a speedbump for DAL, but it might make the road a little interesting for SWA. Better product and similar prices (or so I hear).

Agreed.

Finger pointing alleviates the need to look in the mirror.

Your sarcasm didn't fail. But fly4hire made a good point. This goofy attitude by those on the Republic side of the old NWA/REP merger is telling going forward. These folks assert that because of a merged seniority list, people are flying equipment "out of seniority." If I had an unusually high dose of gopher pesticide, what would people think of the following post: "I'm angry because the 777 has a fence and there are former DAL guys flying the 777 who are junior to me - therefore those DAL guys are flying the 777 "OUT OF SENIORITY!"

People would say, Carl - take a break from killing gophers...put down that crack pipe. And they would be right.

This is one of the stupidest "concepts" I have ever heard.

Agreed. It is an arbitrated award that we were handed because we could not agree. There will be those that test the award, and probably at a high cost to the group, but the fences are small and in a few years all of this will be behind us.
You know what would make everyone forget about this stuff? Another merger......

I have been told by certain unmentioned S guys that I am flying in a seat "out of seniority"... I like your perspective better.

Is this old news?

Atlanta Metro News | ajc.com

As of the new AE, there are 4 DTW 777As and 30 ATL 777As junior to the most junior 744 (#1760). The most junior DTW 777A is #1969 or ATL 777A is #2307.

The previous AE the most junior 744A was #1787 thus 14 ATL 777As were junior (most junior #2674) and 47 JFK 777As (most junior #3317).

OH thats the AJC? They say we have 17 MD-90s now and are adding 11 more. My understanding is we have 16, although I have not gone outside to count them, and are adding 12 more. I guess that equals the same 28 we are adding.

If I win the lottery I'm buying one from Saudi. Don't know what I'll do with it.

acl65pilot 01-21-2010 05:05 AM

And if they get the 744's as rumored there will be a ton of DAL-N guys junior to the 777A's. Point is what?
If you beleive the premise that the seniority was awarded as fairly as possible, (yes not everyone) then the fences are going to cause a lot of angst.
