True - I can see them assigning a trip that starts on your last on call day and carries over into a soft x day (and I'm sure it happens when they are short). But, if you haven't been assigned a trip on your last day prior to noon then as far as I'm concerned you might as well be going into a golden day. If they were to assign you a trip after noon, it would essentially be a JA since you would be reporting on an x day and not just carrying over into it. And remember - you are never REQUIRED to answer your phone regardless of your on call status. In fact, for a long call assignment, you have at least nine hours before you even have to acknowledge the assignment.

Agreed. I have never seen someone called after 1200 on their last long call day prior to a X day.

Here are the two pertinent lines directly from the contract. Notice the words "may" and "will".

7. A long call pilot may be released from on-call duty at 1200 base time on his last on-call
day prior to a non-fly day (e.g., X-day, regular line day-off) if he contacts Crew Scheduling and requests to be released.
8. A long call pilot will be released from on-call duty at 1200 base time on his last on-call day prior to a “hard” non-fly day (e.g., golden day, MLOA, ALPA drop).

A little trivia question.

Delta is the largest airline in the United States, carrying the most passengers for the most revenue. But who flies to the most airports in the United States?

AMR Eagle?

When does APC update the pay tables under airline profiles?

Bucking Bar 01-14-2010 03:04 PM

Funny ... might actually have to read your pay out of your contract. What a hassle, compared to APC :D

Trivia Answer:

Regional airline SkyWest, which flies under the brands of several mainline carriers, flies to 135 U.S. airports. In fact, the top six carriers are all regional carriers. By contrast, perennial on-time leader, Hawaiian Airlines, only serves 15 U.S. airports.

Delta flies to 88 airports, and its owned airline, Northwest Airlines, flies to 67 airports, including many served by Delta.

We just need competative pricing, which we have. Having an architeture background makes me personally want to see us do something spectacular, but I'm not holding my breath for a company that is in one of the most notoriously thin industries (wrt operating margins) to go out and spend a bunch of money to do that.

Our TV would be great if it ever had anything on except news channels. I guess we don't want to awaken all the sleeping FAs...

I hate LA... well certain members of the PAC 10 anyway... :D

Hate to break it to you but they absolutely will book away from Delta if given the option. Our terminal at JFK is horrendous. It's confusing, old, cramped, and just ugly. Ever been to JetBlue's terminal? How about American's? It is amazing to see the contrast between our terminal and their terminals. Something needs to be done. It's not right to land 20 minutes early then be setting the parking brake at the gate an hour and a half late with people misconnecting because of a cramped alley. Something needs to be done.

with all this lovely talk about JFK, I'm happy to say I've NEVER been there!! I'd be ok with keeping it that way too....
