Slow,
You embarrass yourself when you talk about items you know nothing about. Let me attempt to educate you:
Sick leave usage at NWA was massive. Management screamed bloody murder. Our union told them it is their own fault, by not having a policy that allowed for commuting TO work. Management said that would be impossible. Our union said fine...then expect things to continue. Management threatened and threatened, but sick leave usage continued unabated. Then management came to our union (in mid-contract) and said, let's talk. Management agreed to the policy and presto changeo, sick leave usage fell dramatically.
Now I know some will say that was just horrible of NWA pilots. I disagree. My sick leave account belonged to me. My union negotiated it and I did what I wished to do with it. Most pilots felt the same way. I thought it did show some courage/stones. You ought to try it someday Slow.

You mean they're the ONLY management that wasn't smart enough to lawyer up (like UAUA, AMR and even DAL) and take you to court? Real tough cookies there! Must have taken some real stones to steal from those guys....

Slow, is that a new series on the Discovery Channel?
I think we need to start plugging away at these agents as we walk through...
ACL: Great news, I heard from 2 good sources we're going to do XYZ
1st Responder: Yeah, but is that for real?
2nd Responder: No way, no way we're going to do that, thats ridiculous.
3rd Responder: I asked the TSA agent today, he said we're doing XYZ, ACL was right.
2nd Responder: Well if TSA says so I guess its true...
ACL: **** right.

give old uncle ACL a break. I am using every public source I can.
Hoser:
We may start with 10 gates total and end with 20. 20 would be the goal to complete the master plan....... or so I assume!

And here this whole time you guys have been telling me that NWA management was mean, vindictive, spiteful...yada, yada, yada.

Step away from the koolaid. We don't like it when our union leaders sound like a management parrots. The only thing that has been stolen was what management stole from us during the bankruptcy process.

I meant that as a joke on tsa, what if we get to the point tsa becomes a good source of rumors? Every once in a while someone who doesn't appreciate your insight (dfw, ae results comes out at 12, more 90s, guam, LGA swap, and a laundry list of other stuff) comes a long and questions things openly and then quietly disappears. But imagine a day when ACL says something and we walk over to TSA and say, hey, have you heard xyz? And they say yes! Then we run back and go running back screaming TSA said it too, it must be true! read DFW. That'll be sad and funny if we start using TSA for gouge and we shouldve been doing that all along!

I agree with you. Whether I'm buying a new car, or a hamburger, I want to be treated as a valued customer, and feel as though my business is appreciated.
If I go to McDonald's and ask for a cup of ice water (with my food purchase) I don't expect to be charged for it.
All of the bag fees, itinerary change fees, etc are ways to make the customer feel as though DAL views them not as a valued customer, but rather as a resource to be exploited.
When I'm left with that feeling, I typically go elsewhere next time.
