There is no advantage to dragging the operation to a stop. No upside benefit, lots of downside risk.

You're right Bar, you (whomever this happens to) go do the job and figure the rest out later. But if you are in the right, definitely call the union and take action as far as you deem necessary. I've heard of guys getting premium pay as a result of some scheduling shenanigans. It's one of those "fly now, grieve later" situations. If nothing else, it's a "learning experience!":) We all have to enforce the contract or it's not worth the paper it's written on.

DALPA Forum

So, does anyone know why the DALPA forum now has a username/password login after you have clicked on Forum? And, no, the member number/password does not work there.

No idea. Maybe they are doing work to the DALPA forum. I know when sites go down for mtc you will see that.

I've run into this problem before. Try deleting all your temp files, browsing history, cookies etc. Then close and reopen your browser. Hopefully you will not get that logon screen. This seems to work for me. I use IE for a browser.

I think you missed my point. In months that the ALV is above 80.... you would not have to do anything since once over 80 you get 1.5 pay.

Now if you were to pick up white slips and go over 80 you get straight pay.

ALV now are low.... told they will go high over the summer.

I may like GS flying too. I have not gotten one yet.

My main point was to EVALUATE BOTH programs and see which one puts the most money in all of our pockets. I know both are different, however, the union was able to show the results of both programs to the MEC a few months back.

I get your point. I really do and I can see how both ways can work and can't work. It would be nice to see the real analysis data instead of working on hypothetical models. I think that where the 1.5 over 80 helps out is for those that commute. I don't think that many commuters are going to get GS's since they are same or prior day awards.

Maybe a hybrid between the two would be nice, where as you can have 1.5 over 80 and GS's. We need to be careful however so that the incentive of flying high time doesn't negatively impact our staffing any more than it already has. This will be the fine line.

Keep in mind that even when the ALV's are low, you can still get green slips whereas if the ALV is 70hrs, you wont get any 1.5 over 80 on the initial bid and there most likely wont be much open time to pick up to the max of 85 hrs.

I would rather see better rigs first however, especially since we now have a lot of 30 hr layovers in real garden spots like GRB and RAP.

Agreed. I had soft pay for calendar day layovers at my regional, and I would like to see it here.

Yeah, we used to have a 4:15 per day but lost it in bk to the average duty period.

They are trying to get the remaining 5 guys that post there to tire of the hassle factor so they can shut it down due to lack of interest. :D
