Delta Air Lines (DAL) NewsBite - DAL Downgraded By JP Morgan
Posted: Thursday, February 04, 2010 10:02 AM EDT Delta Air Lines (DAL) was downgraded today by analysts at JP Morgan and the stock is now at $11.49, down $0.93 (-7.49%) on volume of 3,199,489 shares traded. The analysts cut DAL to Neutral from Overweight, adding in a note to investors that although the sector appears bullish in the long-term, the major carriers have "run their course for now, in our view." Over the last 52 weeks the stock has ranged from a low of $3.51 to a high of $13.73. Delta Air Lines stock has been showing support around $11.96 and resistance in the $13.14 range. Technical indicators for the stock are bullish and S&P gives DAL a positive 4 STARS (out of 5) buy ranking. If you are looking for a hedged play on DAL the stock seems like it could be a candidate for a June out-of-the-money bear-call credit spread above the 15 range. The news has been real quiet for a few days. ACL, what does this mean? |
NEKKEI.com is stating the JAl Chief is hesitant to dump AMR for Delta, looks like we are being played by the Japanese.

I'm very familiar with hot mics -- all my other aircraft had them. And if you used it, everyone yelled at you (non-Dave Clark cockpits).
I just think it's ridiculous that even the newest Boeings being built are loud. Have you guys thought about the plantronics in-ear headsets? I bought one, and it has changed my life. I can hear the other pilot just as well, the radio better, no headset hair, and no "clamping" of the skull. Just a friendly suggestion. To each their own. I think the UAL airplanes have them installed, each pilot brings his own earpiece. |

Typical games that they play. They'll probably be out of bankruptcy before they decide. Although, hasn't it always been reported that JAL management was hesitant to leave OneWorld but the govt & ETIC want them to go to Skyteam? |

Something must be up? Is the sky falling? Why is ACL not logged in? Is he selling his stock because he knows something is up? Where is the code breaker for ACL logo? What does it all mean? Were the Mayan's right about the world?

The news has been real quiet for a few days. ACL, what does this mean? To add these stocks have been trading at the top end or above of their range. A small correction is needed. A recovery without jobs means squat. I think you can see by today's employment numbers recovery will be slow though out the year. If we get a jobs stimulus I will be very concerned. |

I do not trade DAL stock. I still see moderate support for a price at least 50% above teh current trading average by the end of the year. There is/are a lot of things that will change my thought process, but the sky is not falling, just correcting its height. I personally was expecting this "correction" about three months ago. How the politicians handle it will determine this countries economy for the next three years. |

It just makes the risk level for that part of our operation increase. If we are not successful, I pray that we do not see Open Skies ratified unless there are some changes in the slot access to Haneda. |
