I think the company didn't do the Delta pilots any favors by not including the closure of the CVG767 category in the first bid. That's another senior category which once displaced are going to cause more training events.
There are junior people going to training this spring who will no doubt have to go back through another training event as they'll get displaced to another category. |

I think you will find that the training and upgrade scenario is a whole lot brighter than you think. Just wait for the may-june bid. It should be pleasantly surprising for a change. The jan bid was a snapshot in time, things have changed since that snapshot. If the hiring projections are anything near what I'm hearing, folks on the bottom of the list wont be there for long. I could understand ASA & SkyWest, or even the f-NWA wholly owneds being added to this list by DOH. Just to be clear, we go ahead of all DCI pilots on all DL-branded flights (mainline and DCI) with the exception of ASA and Skywest. In that case, ASA/Skywest goes first and we get grouped in with the other DCI pilots based on DOH. I think that's what you're saying. I agree that there needs to be a differentiation between mainline and other DCI pilots. I'm now going to don my Hurt Locker suit for the bombs that are inevitably going to be lobed my way.:D |

Earlier you said they bumped your training back a month. Does your pbs calender still show your current position or 320? Also do you know when you get 320 pay, March or whenever you actually convert? I am supposed to convert in March also but no training scheduled yet, however my pbs calender has my new position. I did get my new manuals a couple of weeks ago and the Jepps came yesterday. |

Satch; In my personal portfolio, I take your outlook. I have a family and my priority is their care. Commodities and 3x etf's exclusively. OTOH I cannot just jump with both feet into the camp that the world will end...If it does, it means Christ has returned and I'm otta here. I have all of the survival stuff covered, probably because I am a pilot and plan for the worst. If there is a meltdown, it will be on a global scale. There are enough viable reasons to need air travel that it is good to be employed by the skyteam. This administration does seem to have an agenda of tanking the dollar as quickly as possible. That is bad for america (the island) But you and I work for a global company. You and I don't have crystal balls. I recommend doing what you can to insulate yourself from the bad stuff and drive on. Oh yeah! Those p47s are nice targets, but at least they can turn. |

I'm not as nervous about the economy as I was last year, I think its like a hard worker that keeps getting dumped on and thinks his company is trying hard to go chapter 11 but he keeps working anyways. Maybe we'll fight our way through... U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A....

Scambo, if you are so interested in MiG 29s, you should talk to a guy in my new hire class. He flew them for the Russians. Imagine a MiG pilot sitting next to a U2 pilot in Delta class.
