Did they mention any "beefing up" of the 320 in Memphis, or just a shift in flying until SLC is up and running? Also, are the FNWA aircraft going to keep the 5 day trips going forward? Are FDAL domestic aircraft going to be getting them too?

keep posting them. There better be plenty of attention on this crud over the next 30 days.

Ummm...you do know that it takes an aviator to fly a helicopter..right? Not sure the connection between helo driver and UAS driver was well thought out.

This Huey driver can also fly jets................and I ain't that smart:D

Best public source for that is the bloggers over on airliners.net.

I have been hearing that the 5500 series 757 will get painted and receive the new interiors. Ala, no retirement. We will use them on short haul stuff. That is great news.

As for what is at Pineal and VCV, it is about 40-50 767/757 series jets. It is a rolling number as some come in and other go out to SAT to get their heavy checks.

If that is true it would be excellent news. Retiring those 5500 series 757's would be a big blow. One would think they could use those for the FL shuttle out of ATL, or for heavier domestic loads in general.

Without looking it up I believe the last count was somewhere around 65 mainline FDAL birds. The bulk of that consisted of 757/767 domestic birds with a handful of ERs. The rest were 88s. Some were retired but most were parked awaiting the upturn in the economy. Just imagining what would happen if we pulled all of those birds out of the desert gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Especially when I think of going to 88 school in a few months.

Ok Gents,

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'm asking anyway. Tomorrow is my first day on DAL reserve. I checked my schedule post 1500 Mecca time, & there is not a SC assignment on my schedule. So I know I'm on long call, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for sitting LC.

Specifically, does anyone check their schedule every 3-4 hours? Or does everyone just wait for a call? Plus, if they were to assign me SC for Sat would I get a call or will it just show up on my schedule? Will they have to give me a specific amount of notice for the SC assignment?

Thanks in advance. :)
