FYI- the new Gen 4 Glocks are out and they are sweet.
Ed's in Atlanta still gives the LEO discount to airline pilots. Very good deal.

May answer has always been enough. Never know how many that will be so, better to have to many than not enough.

Same goes for bullets. :D

It is what it is, but I disagree with one thing. If you lived life with your head in the sand, you would not be on here chatting away the problems o Delta. You do care.

In fact, we all do. What will be will be, but that does not mean that you do not want to be aware of the events that are unfolding which will ultimately effect you and your family. That my friend is just plain smart.

Very true. Although I prefer this job over my alternatives. I'm hoping I never have to execute plan B. But if I do, I'll make it work.

Tarmac rules get flights dropped

The nation's recent onslaught of flight cancellations is a harbinger of what passengers can expect from airlines looking to avoid new multimillion-dollar fines for leaving people stranded on grounded planes in bad weather, according to federal data and aviation experts....

....Passenger advocates say that airlines don't need to cancel flights to prevent tarmac delays. "This is solvable" without excess cancellations, said Kate Hanni, who founded Flyersrights.org after a flight she was on in 2006 was stranded.

Too late! You got what you wanted. No idea how you think this is solvable. I had a full flight "recently" going to a hotspot in the northeast and we got our wheels up time as we taxied out then that turned into a ground stop with an update an hour later, then word the update was extended another hour and we came back and the flight was cancelled.

This is just the way its going to be.

I have a question though. What happens to the regionals when we cancel flights in mass since they're paid by flight completion? Do we still have to pay them in part or a minimum?

Whoa.

I guess it depends who cancels the flights (does DAL pull the plug or does the lift provider do it) and how the individual contract works.

Hogwash - when a guy at the top of the seniority list looks what how much they work vs how much they bring in vs the mortgage, boat payments and things a 12-year widebody Captain can get with his paycheck - why would they leave?

Exxxxxxxactly.
