FTB, hmmm, I think you're onto something....nahh, probably not.;)

Yep, and the pizza is never as good, the tacos are always cold, and the chicken smells like fries.

The point of JV's and Code shares is that it allows a business to still capture market share when they do not have the credit or overall ability to grow organically. It is not as good as doing it yourself, but is sure cots less.

OK...I'll try and speak verrrry slowly for you. There are 4 pairs of T/O and Landing slots for ALL US airlines. 4.

We have the greatest gem in NRT. 5th freedom rights and unused slots due to the freighter slots which are not being utilized.

Should you try and expand our operastion at a place where we are king, or expend energy chasing 4 slolts. And before you tell me how much more valuable the HND slots are cuz it's closer to Tokyo take a reality check. Since 1978, Japanese have been traveling 75 minutes to NRT from Tokyo.

ACL states that this HND would mean more widebody seats. BS. If we were able to gain those fantastic 1 or 2 slots to HND it would be at best a swap from the NRT slots. In fact knowing how the Japanese think, we would probably have to give up our 5th freedom rights for those HND slots.

I say exploit where we arer strong; NRT:cool:

What's sad, is it Delta is putting out bad pizza, cold tacos and chicken smelling like fries? I hope not, and I'm sure lie flat seats and a billion dollars worth of upgrades will help but you wonder. I don't know, Delta is the only airline I've ever flown international.

Ah, but that's just it. We're not trying to put you out of work. We're trying to get you a job at mainline.

Amazing.... Ya know what? In 1978, I could buy a Big Mac for 65 cents... Nah this argument isn't worth my time. Thanks for the entertainment though... and for speaking verrry slowly.

Think business travelers. O and D traffic. Haneda is closer. Think IAD and DCA. We would fill em.

These are the US's slots to dole out per the Open Skies Accord, not Japan's.

Think about our business model and how these slots fit with it.

There would not be a dramatic draw down of NRT. It in the end would be a different clientele.

Trust me, a billion dollars will not help us even come close to Emirates, Thai, Cathay, etc.

First thing we need to do is buy the best seats, and not the lie flats that require a mechanic. I know some will disagree, but if you want to charge 10-15K a ticket and get it, buy the product to compete.

(for those of you that think I never ever ever post anything negative about DAL, there ya go! :D )

Agreed Frank, better scope means better career progression for all.

The last decade has given stagnation to the bottom of the mainline list, and a quality of life never dreamed of at a regional airline. When people are comfortable enough to make a regional their career, you know the pendulum needs to swing the other way.

USC Squirms

Published: February 21, 2010
TEMPE, Ariz. — With the knot of his light purple tie loosened from his neck and the jacket from his stylish khaki suit long removed, Lane Kiffin left the University of Southern California’s hearing with the N.C.A.A.’s committee on infractions.

Looking restless, Kiffin declared to no one in particular Saturday night, “I’ve never moved less in a 72-hour period.”

Now that the three-day hearing before the N.C.A.A. is over, the real anxiety will come over the next two months.
