make sure you vote in every election, that will do it, trust me.

While residing in the great state of Texas I did just that. Exercising my rite to vote awarded me with four summons within five years.

Just had jury duty in Jan. Very painless. Here though, they use driver licence info to pull jury pools because voter registration was less than 40% of the population.

FWIW most jurisdictions around my area are getting VERY ****y about people getting released from jury duty.

Where I live, unless you're bleeding out of your eye sockets, you're not going to get out of it no matter what the company says.

I got called twice in the last couple of years...right at the legal minimum separation for jury duty periods. Time's almost up for another.

Did it for the arrival of my first born a couple of months ago. Very painless. You will talk to Lynn Ivey in Crew Resources. She handles your FMLA. Fill out the form and fax it in. My advice is ask for the maximum time off as you can always come back early. You must give at least 30 days notice so get your paperwork in ASAP. Enjoy the births.

I had a federal jury summons a couple of years ago for a whole month. Planned to go, notified the CP office, they requested a copy of the summons. Couple of weeks later, get a letter from the feds saying I was released from jury duty. Have a feeling Ma Delta had something to do with it.

Back when I was growing up and when my dad was in the midst of 30 years in the USNR and serving as a full-time pastor, with a doctorate, he'd get a jury summons and it was always a comical event. My home town was ghetto and proud of it and our famous alumni like Allen "bubbachuck?" Iverson and later the Vick boys. So my dad would get jury summons all of the time and show up in a suit and without fail he was the first sent home when they started to eliminate jurors. I guess he didn't qualify as a peer. :D
