Same here. I won't commute for a regional job all the way across the country. I'll find something outside of flying that pays the same or better and closer to home.

Yeah dunno how many would actually take the flowdown. For first year guys it's actually a bit of a step up in pay so long as they can hold the left seat; if they get displaced to the right seat, they won't like it, although they at least get Year 4 pay (vs $23/hr 1st year). I do think that our horrible contract (negotiated & signed by NWALPA without a single vote at CPS) will come as a shock even to those who've worked under NW's post-BK gutted contract.

So where is the damn list already? You know this one of the things I have always hated about ALPA. Even at my previous carrier. Something is supposed to have happened, it hasn't, yet no word from ALPA as to whats going on. They could at least send a quick email to everyone saying "hey we are trying to work it out, will have the list out by tomorrow." Or "hey we think its funny to watch you guys wait in suspense." Something!

Ok rant over, I feel better now.

I think it would've been a good advantage to have WiFi MD88's still flying that, but oh, well...

Shuttle ops starting move to E-175s
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 8, 2008

Starting in January, we’re beginning the transition to Embraer 175 jet aircraft on our Delta Shuttle operations between New York-LaGuardia and Washington, D.C. We fly the LGA-DCA route currently with MD-88s except for two daily flights operated by Shuttle America with E-175s.

On Jan. 5, half the LGA-DCA schedule will be operated by MD-88s and Shuttle America E-175s offering the same ground and in-flight service as today. On March 28, the route will be operated entirely by Shuttle America E-175s.

I'd bet around half might take the flowback. Most Military guys probably have options better than flying for Compass. The civilian guys who have nothing to do will probably do it if the commute isn't too bad. If I get furloughed, I'm gonna collect unemployment, welfare, foodstamps, stop paying my mortgage, and default on my credit cards. In other words, I'm gonna live the American dream.

Callme naive but do you guys get an automatic flow through to Delta?
If thats the case I should have just stayed at a regional and gone to Compass:cool:

Yeah, the new joint contract preserved the flowup as well as flowdown agreements with CP and XJ contained in NW's post-BK contract. Compass can flow up to 20 per month and up to 1/4 of our list per year; those who go have to be Captains with at least 30 months at CPS. I believe hiring comes from CPS, then XJ, then the street.

In talking to my colleagues it sounds like few came here specifically for the flowup, but I think most would still take it if offered. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if we see flowup before flowdown.

Anybody on here have a connection to DALPA? I still can't connect.

For the record, let me say I got screwed waiting to find out how bad I got screwed.

Someone who would go from the new Delta contract to CPZ would probably come back later and tell you that this statement you've made is actually an understatement.

Bingo......the Shuttle started going down hill years ago when they took operational control of it from NYC down to Atlanta where they never understood the product or the importance it has to the huge base of business travellers who might potentially use Delta to fly to other non-Shuttle sites.

I can remember participating in informational picketting in the Shuttle cities not that long ago when management first tried to put RJs under the Delta Shuttle banner. We won that round, but apparently our contract has changed enough that RJ use is now permitted, or we as a union don't want to fight that battle. As other's have mentioned, it appears that there is no loss of NYC88 time in January as they have just switched to more non-shuttle trips, but clearly this spells trouble for the Boston side of the Shuttle which for now remains MD88s (A change to RJs in BOS would have the added problem of reduced seats for the huge amount of BOS commuting pilots and F/As.....myself included, and it is always about me, me ,me!!)
