Because it could not be talked about until it was official.
There is a slight stench!

Why is it that this site, which collects no dues or fees and only operates on ad money can handle close to a 1000 people on this forum and the ALPA site which collects a percentage of dues from thousands of pilots who on average make ahhh, big bucks, is worthless, antiquated, and a piece of crap?

First I've heard of this also.

Turning the entire operation over to one of our connection carriers seems like a huge gamble - the Shuttle was the crown jewel in the Pan Am deal -

BTW, it's 1722 e.s.t., where's the list?

Maybe some dues money should be allocated to upgrading ALPA's web server.

At least I can't get displaced to the Shuttle now.

I think because the ALPA money goes into pockets, rather then member resources.:mad:

Maybe both! Captain, then pushed down to FO, then on the street again...

I disagree and from what the management have told me, we are losing money on it. Which is why a smaller aircraft is in order. If you want, I can email you my pax loads for the past 4 months of Shuttle flying and you can do the math to see if we turned a profit. IMO, hell no.

The loss of the Shuttle Flying has already been picked up with more "mainline" flying for the NYC MD-88. Our line counts and block hours are up. The ALV for January is 82 hours -- and it isn't even summer yet.

Funny how pilots from all walks of life are having the exact same thoughts.
