It is small so that they can add "Connection" below it.

DALPA based a large part of their case, successfully, on the unfounded premise of the DC9's imminent demise. Now that it might be *your* aircraft it's unfair? We couldn't manage to negotiate a deal - it's all over now except for the crying (and the supplemental arbitration's)

Maybe DALPA will get off their @ss now and support the trip-rig agreed to in the JCBA to everyone's' benefit - even yours
More than likely you will still retire a widebody Ca. DOH is not something that I've seen in ALPA national policy. The US/Amwest and now our award have been consistent with Relative position. And yes, the 9's have been going away in large #'s. Im sure if the shoe was on the other foot you wouldn't want NW guys paying the price for loss of DAL equip. Oh yeah, the retirements from years 10-20 will be advantageous to the NWA pilots as the NWA retirements help the DAL guys from now -10 yrs.

Once we get through this economic "downturn" I think widebodies will be available to those who want them.

Yup, I am SLC right now and I am much less than that 7%. I don't care what I fly, as long as it is west of the mississippi. I hope that will still be possible, but we will not know how it flows until the first couple of AE's. Either way, it is TNT movie re-runs at the crashpad on reserve for the next couple of years I fear.

Don't forget CSI re-runs on Spike.

Want to get rid of a DCI? There is a way to do this that makes it very hard for them to repudiate. It is a dirty business and will mean that DAL will get its hands dirty but can be done. The D-0, D-5, A-14 can all be changedwithout breaking any laws. You have to think outside the box and I do not want to mention it here. The question remains if the cost of the legal proceddings is less than the costs of reducing DCI's then it will happen. Until then we will pay the DCI's whether they fly an airplane or not.

I don't think that Compass pilots take any offense. Most of the guys that I've met are pretty pragmatic about our situation. Everyone in my class was furloughed from at least one airline, some from more than one.

These were mostly high-time ATA, Aloha, Spirit and Midwest guys. I think that with that experience comes the realization that furloughs are an inevitable part of this crazy industry and not the fault of other pilots. Should they occur as a result of contractually required flow-backs, I think that most guys would harbor no ill will. It's a part of the business and it was understood when we took the job. Doesn't make it any easier, but it's not the fault of any pilot.

I am all for a mass expansion of Compass at the expense of the rest of DCI. For selfish reasons. Would love to see you with more planes than you have people. And in every base.

You guys may have gotten a break on the attrition, but now:

"All your base are belong to us!" Mwhahahahaha.....

Sorry, couldn't help it. Be careful of what you ask for....you might get it.

The difference in attrition was miniscule and covered by the pull and plug. DL guys losing seniority and upgrades in their bases was a freebie for you. Meanwhile DL guys got no special consideration for the much larger number of retirements at T+10 years.
