The "best answer" is often not the least costly. I expect our management to make decisions that result in Delta being a very efficient and effective company, both today and into the long-term future. IMO, there has been way too much focus on cost over the past few years... to the detriment of a quality product and an effectively run business. Costs are certainly an important part of the equation, but they shouldn't be the #1 priority.

Yes I have seen the plans, looks good.

KK gets moved to the west. T4's West concorse is extended in a dogleg to add 9 more heavy gates, The alley has 2 taxiways...
T3 is out (even the rotunda) and a connector built between T2 and T4 The footprint of T3 will be used for hardstands and staging...

From the plans it looks like the T3 Rotunda could be left if required for historical purposes...

Schipol Group and DAL are the new co-owners of T4 and Skyteam will probably park on the shorter East concourse...

BTW re: Visine comments...DAL sure held on to a lot of "baby blue" even well past what would be prudent...

Good times ahead, growth and bases where-you-wanna-be-based for all with industry leading compensation...

Give me that and I'll do flightplans with crayons for all I care

Cheers
George

There we go.

80, you bet! Shoot me a PM with your schedule. Mine is pretty heavily loaded up front but calms down considerably the last two weeks of July.

Good morning gentlemen,

Just some thoughts after catching up on this thread.

Do you know how you can tell the difference between a North pilot and a South Pilot? You can't. We all look the same now. From what I have seen, in the airports and crew vans, we are all pretty much the same as well. A great bunch of guys and gals.

But, for some reason, when we get on APC, our claws come out.

So, maybe on here when we see an old "North guy" complain about the way things are going, we should just think of him as a Delta pilot who is complaining about how things are going.

Maybe when we see an old "South guy" defend the way things are going, we should just see a Delta pilot defending the way things are going.

Then you can debate issues and not colors.

Ok. Back to studying.....

DAL330, it is not meant as a slap in the face. It is just the truth. If you want to change it, get involved and work on slow change.

I see a change to AWABS coming, ship sets, checklists, et al. It is slow. A little patience is in order. NWA brought a ton of good things to this merger. Leadership has said that they will bring some of it forward. I believe the quote number is 350. Give em time. The process has brought both groups together under a same list and same procedures. As with all corporations the small and often unnoticeable change takes place over the next five years.

I cannot wait for a updated cornerstone system, updated crew software, updated flight planning etc. I know it takes time. I prefer them to get it right than to rush it and bring a program to market with a ton of bugs.

acl,

I never thought of it as a slap in the face. I agree 100% with your post, it will take time, Rome wasn't built in one day. I see plenty of changes in the works and I choose to fly my jet and let management run the company.

I have a long time left at DAL and refuse to get caught up in the North vs. South, us vs. them bull. As I said before, my paycheck now says Delta and that's who my loyalty goes to, NWA is history now and I'm proud I was part of it. :)

Some of those who refuse to let go are the ones who had too much too soon and thought that NWA revolved around them, if they want to change anything, then they should get involved, after all, some of them are only working 9 days a month and have plenty of time to spare. :D

This one I'll raise the BS flag on. FIrst off I'll say I am glad I am not working on ProStan in SEA because there is a new captain there with exactly that vibe. The same vibe he had all the way through training. The same vibe that the instructors complained about when he didnt follow the way it was taught. The same vibe that the Fleet Training Captain complained about to his boss ... and was told to let the captain do it his way...

To me that is an indication of how management (above the level of Fleet Training Captain) is condoning that vibe.

Just my $.02

Where are there artist renderings of the new terminals in JFK? Are they online somewhere?
