Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Why did you chose Delta?
Now that you've flown with them for a year or thirty, did those reasons pan out, and would you do the same again?
Hypothetically, say you had offers from DAL and other airlines/cargo lines, what would be the pros and cons to your consideration of DAL?
Thanks a ton,
Wuzzo

Ultimately, I choose Delta because I knew they were a conservative company, had crew bases in cities that were tolerable to me, and there was always that Delta family thing.
How did it pan out? Better than expected honestly. Although we have some growing pains stemming from the merger with NWA, overall my time at Delta has been very good, your experience may vary. I've been at the tale end of a very long seniority list but have had in-base equipment seniority giving me extremely good schedules as a new hire. Survived a major down turn in the economy with no furlough. I've been getting raises when most Americans have been going backwards. The company doesn't hassle you if you're sick. If the Captain makes a tough decision, they back him/her up. I like the business model outlook for the future, but I think we have a lot to improve. It isn't boring. For a couple of years I can do domestic or switch to international or vice versa. The merger with NWA opened up a tremendous amount of flying opportunities. There's so much diversity in the flying here.
OK, folks, I apologize if this isn't the right place, but it seems close. My topic searches only came up with a couple "Why DAL vs. XXXX airlines?" threads. If it's been beat to hell in another topic, feel free to say "shut the hell up, #2, and click here: "www.threadthatwuzzoshouldbeabletofindifheweren'ts uchalousygoogle-fu-guru.com"
A few questions for those who fly for/have flown for DAL, and particularly those who had other offers:

Wuzzo;
I was at United 9 months and left to come to DAL. My reason was that DAL hired everyone that I would have hired from the USAF and noone I wouldn't have hired. Pretty simplistic thought process.
At the time, UAL was the highest paid and progression was rapid. Most people would have stayed there.
I don't know anyone who's career expectations were not devastated by 9-11 and its aftermath.
In the end, the folks I fly with are great folks, we generally have a good time on layovers. The airline that hires you is the one you want to be with. Choose between two after that.

The industry has changed across the board the last decade. We have all taken a beating. Like Alfa has stated, the majority of people here are awesome. I enjoy my fellow pilots immensely. Work is work, but these guys and gals make it fun. We truly have a superb set of professionals here. I have been truly impressed with almost everyone I have flown with here at DAL. That goes for the cabin crews as well. Respect is a two way street.
Keep in mind that Delta pilots have the longest running thread on this forum. Why? Many are engaged, and many more read this thread. That is a testament to a good cross section of this group. We do have our warts, but as with everything, we pride ourselves in those too.
If you were to get hired here, I believe that you would enjoy this airline. Not once have I regretted my decision to come here. Read this thread. There are 777A's on here all the way to new hires. That is a great read in to the mindset of this group.

67 hour? That would be a 9 or 10 day trip? Why didn't the all mighty DAL just split that rotation to a 5 day or so, and put the remainder in open time, hoping someone would pick it up WS?
Schedulers are getting lazy....but good on the dude. Hope he was a REG pilot and not RSV...He'd make over 130 hrs of pay no credit
